A larger shoot took place in recent days with Laura. It should emerge from studio portraits in a style reminiscent of conceptual fashion photography.
Nicole was responsible for the makeup, although I worked with the first - but certainly not the last time!
The first building was a classic mode setup with a white background. Two flash heads shone the Background, while the main light came from a high frontal Beautydish. keep
To the contrast especially on the cheeks nice and high, I pushed before shooting two black light eater as close as possible to Laura. This is clearly seen in the above inclusion of the dark contours of her cheek, her arms and legs.
For the full body shots against a white background, the light eater again pushed outward so that it blocks only the scattered light of the background flashes and the background paper has been extended to the front. The Beautydish was replaced by a 28 "softbox, which scatters the light a little further -.'s Position remained the same
Ursel, who assisted me, jumped also still the same as a stylist with a ... ;-)
A little wind in their hair and so we had already the full body shots in the can! The bottom image I digitally simulates a cross-development, leading to the color shift and high contrast. In addition, I was right, however, another flash of the camera let down on Laura's legs to compensate for the drop in light of the softbox and give the legs a little more definition.
For the second setup, I switched to a dark gray background (thunder black). Since my studio is painted very small and white, I have decided to cast a very dark, as there is usually a good deal of light Main light also on the background and it therefore falls neatly into the brightness begins. In our case here, but this was also really wanted.
Laura I placed very close to the background paper, so that their shadows would be clearly visible on it. As a main light, I appointed a new light shaper, a truly huge 85 "-parabolic reflector (to German: 2,16 meters!) Gives with silver reflective coating to the light shaping it in the near future but a blog post
Basically I liked the above test shot pretty good, but our model was also a Another outfit have photographed. While she was changing, but I changed the lights a little, so that the well-focused beam of Paras not directly Laura, but met a good feet away from her in the background. This gave Laura from only the even softer light of the marginal rays. This technique is called in English "to feather the light".
Light color and contrast changes provided for different looks. And yet after the very static poses were photographed, we could also bring some movement into the game ...
The background to maintain it went to the next light setup. Main light was a 65W high light ring light. A first imaging test showed that the brightness was true, but by the fall-now black background too harsh appeared:
To the blue of her eye makeup to resume and to achieve a good differentiation of the context, I filtered a flash with a "Double Blue" filter film from Lee on the desired color and the flash positioned directly behind Laura, so they concealed it. A test firing showed that the brightness, color and position of the flash corresponded to my expectations.
The final shot looked like this:
Unfortunately, I is the position then something slips, so that the background flash is no longer centrally behind Laura hit the wall. Nevertheless, you can see well the difference in how much life can conjure up such a small flash in the background.
Whether a reflection of the ring but suits in mind is - as I have recently noticed again - strong taste. Here again an excerpt that shows this reflex better:
For a recent development I reused to said boom stand and reattached the 28 "softbox fact that I knew it even with a honeycomb. The background was a patterned shower curtain, the raised means Leimklemmen a frame was. On the floor I laid out some walnut colored laminate boards, so the recordings would not immediately recall a photo studio. Again, a high frontal orientation was ensured for high contrast and a desired vignetting (using the comb) of the image.
has all around it was fun again and Laura has also photographed prima . Let Looking forward already to continuing to work with Nicole!
you all a happy Sunday!
